SuzanneC progress thread

So. January (measured this morning). I'm 5'6".
Weight 150.4 lbs
Chest (I measure around my ribcage just under my breasts because I have cysts that make their size fluctuate drastically independent of fat or water changes) 30.5"
Waist 33.5"
Hips 41"
I don't have specific goals in mind for measurements, but for the sake of my knees and hips I'd like to get (and keep, lol) my weight average 135-140 lbs.

I'm going to start taking progress pics as well, but I'm going to wait at least a few months to post any, so I can do comparisons instead of just isolated moments.0
-
Sounds like you have a plan and lots of motivation!! Really good to track a few measurements I think so you can see progress in different ways.0
-
After thinking a bit over the past week, I've decided I might stay on track better if I update my stats on here weekly instead of monthly, along with monthly comparison photos. So....
January 12:
Weight 149.8 lbs
Chest 30.5"
Waist 33.25"
Hips 40.5"0 -
January 19:
Weight 150.6 lbs
Chest 30.5"
Waist 33.5"
Hips 41"
I lifted yesterday for the first time in 5 months, so as much as it felt great (I LOVE lifting weights but my disability rarely lets me anymore) I'm definitely carrying some extra water this morning from DOMS!0 -
Well done that’s excellent news! It feels good to exercise. I trained yesterday as well 💪0

I didn't post last week because I was away and hadn't brought my tape measure, but my weight was steady at 150.6 lbs.
This week everything is up instead of down, but I've just started on 2 new meds that can cause up to 2-3 lbs of fluid retention EACH. I'm on really small doses of both so my weight & measurements shouldn't increase by that much, but my doctors have warned me to expect some. I've also been eating saltier than normal the past few days, because hormones.
So.
February 2:
Weight 151.6 lbs
Chest 31"
Waist 33.25"
Hips 41.25"
So pretty much holding steady.
I've also been able to keep lifting once a week. I'll probably never be able to go really heavy again, but at least I can do a bit!0 -
February 9:
Weight 149.2 lbs
Chest 30.75"
Waist 32.5"
Hips 40.5"
So that's my waist to height ratio below 0.5 🎉🎉 My waist to hip ratio is still slightly above 0.8 but extremely close. Hubby and I thrifted me a "goals" vintage biker jacket that I can put on but not zip up at the moment. I'm estimating it'll fit me well around 135 lbs.0 -

February 16
Weight 148.8 lbs
Chest 30.25"
Waist 32.75"
Hips 40.5"
Still trending in the right direction.0 -
No numbers this week. I had oral surgery on Thursday and haven't been able to eat much of anything. Nothing I weigh or measure right now will reflect reality.0

March 2
Weight 147.6 lbs
Chest 30.25"
Waist 33.5"
Hips 40.25"
My weight has kept going down, but this is a pretty big drop from where it's been. I expect at least partly because I had a very small lunch yesterday so less waste in transit. I have some bloating around my waist (and my inflammation & pain are way up) because the way I'm eating isn't what I want. That should resolve in a few weeks once my mouth has healed up more and my diet can get back to normal.0 -
No post last week but I was 145.8 lbs. Dehydrated. Also wasn't able to get measurements.
So, this week....
(I can't figure out how to format text, or stop it from automatically double-spacing line breaks on mobile... among other issues... this update seems extremely buggy!)
March 16th:
Weight 147.0 lbs, which makes a lot more sense with my overall trend than last Sunday's weight did
Chest: 30.25"
Waist: 32.75"
Hips: 40.25
Since I'm pretty sure I'm the only one still here, I think I'm going to request that this thread be moved into one of the general/public forum areas. Nobody else has posted or reacted here since late January and I'm getting tired of talking to myself.

Obviously I know I didn't gain 2 lbs of fat in a week! I'm retaining a lot of fluid right now, and also had a larger, later dinner than usual. The measurements are telling the real story here, which is continued progress in the right direction.
My neurologist has cleared me to get on a horse, and at least walk in quiet circles 🎉🎉 I grew up riding, and have show jumped competitively up to 1.20m and ponied TBs on the track (among other things). But I've also had several pretty serious head injuries, the last one leaving me with a permanent (fairly minor compared to what it could've been, but still significant) brain injury, that actually cost me my career. But now, after almost 6 years of working hard at recovery, I'm cleared. Nothing is scheduled yet - I'm still in the process of re-outfitting myself. I'd sold/donated all my gear (and horse 😢) after the first couple of years - but I'm already chatting with my old coach. Her, I trust to mount me appropriately for my situation and not to push me.
The DOMS after my first ride in so many years is going to be epic!
