Hi!

Hi my name is Rivka. I just joined the app. I originally downloaded it to count my nutritional intake and carbs. My family (all adults) and I just started the keto diet. I'm trying to lose about 100 lbs. I've dropped about 8 lbs so far. So, so far so good. I had no idea there were so many carbs in things that are supposed to be healthy. Like lentils, chickpeas, and avocado! No wonder I've never succeeded before. 😂.

Happy and excited to meet new people!

    Congrats on committing to change!

One thing to learn/keep in mind though - carbs are not inherently 'unhealthy'. Keto is one of many ways of eating which can result in a calorie deficit and weight loss. But it is not the only way, and foods that are not keto are not necessarily unhealthy, and, frankly, some foods that are keto approved are pretty dubious on the 'healthy' scale. Think about all the nations in the world, and all the centuries foods like legumes and grains etc have kept humanity thriving - the human race hasn't just been going along unhealthily until keto came along!

I have lost 60lbs in 6 months eating legumes, bread, avocado, pizza and *gasp* chocolate! The pizza and chocolate don't form the majority of my diet or course, but I haven't completely cut them out, and I find my food intake satisfying and sustainable... and healthy!

Best of luck to you, and I hope you find this community as helpful as I have :)
