Can you fast?
Start with 12 hour water only fast and keep going longer. It is very good for the body to repair itself and good for weight loss.1 -

Fasting is not the be all and end all of weight loss, and can be very dangerous for diabetics. Please be careful about throwing out this advice willy nilly.
@amandabrown051019 weight loss is simple (though not easy!!) and there are a number of ways to do it. Start small, and by gathering information. Try measuring your food and logging it here on MFP for a week to get an idea of what you're eating, and how your calories look at the end of the day/week. Then start looking into how you can cut them down where needed.
As a diabetic, you can probably benefit from cutting some carbs, which can be a good way to reduce calories depending on what you're 'spending' your carbs on. Add more lean meats, veggies and fruit to your diet, try and prioritise them. I aim for half my plate to be non-starchy veg, they're filling, full of vitamins, and low calorie.
Nothing has to be off limits, you just need to find the right balance. But definitely start by getting a handle on what you do eat, so you know what to change.3 -
i'm a diabetic. and the key to loosing weight is controlling your diabetes. so you need to learn how to eat properly.
I focus on high protein and high fiber. The only recommendation i try to match from mft is the 21g a day in fiber. don't always succeed but i am usually close.
The second is learn portions. learn what high glycemic foods are and limit those to a serving if you have them.
you can add me as a friend if you'd like. This is my third (and final) time with this method. each time I have lost weight and lowered my a1c.
i eat less calories than I used to but the volume of food that i eat has increased. my energy is better. I am only 9 days in so join me2
