I've heard of chamomile tea, but I saw a post someone wrote... something about Magnesium. Does anyone know anything about magnesium or any other remedies? What are your experiences?

Consider trying something like progressive relaxation, or the relaxation response.

    Progressive relaxation: https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/health-wellness/health-encyclopedia/he.stress-management-doing-progressive-muscle-relaxation.uz2225

There are lots of other web sources for instructions, but that's a reliable mainstream source, and detailed instructions. Try doing that in bed for a few nights at least, because practice may matter.

    Relaxation response: http://www.relaxationresponse.org/steps/

That starts with a brief muscle relaxation phase, then continues to breath work. If doing it for sleep, do it in bed, not to a time limit, but until you fall asleep. Again, it may take some practice to be effective. Even the process will create some restfulness in the body, not as effective as sleep, but better than some other things that could happen while lying awake trying to sleep.

There are other threads here where people explain sleep hygiene, talk about hypnosis or self-hypnosis options, discuss supplements, etc. This is one example:

For me, magnesium didn't make much difference, but falling asleep wasn't my problem, sleep interruption insomia was/is. Magnesium has helped some other people.

I'm one of the people magnesium helps. But without supplements, I don't get enough magnesium, plus my body doesn't use it (and other nutrients, at 75 years old) as well as it should, so I need even more. I don't particularly think it will help if you're not deficient. Also, it helps me STAY asleep, not FALL asleep.
For occasional bad nights, chamomile helps me a lot, but not as a nightly thing.
A nightly routine, as well as waking up the same time every day, including weekends helped me. It took a week or two before I thought it was helping, Longer to be sure.
I hope you find something that helps you.

    Magnesium glycinate and
Ashwganda, my partner swears by them.
Start on a low dose of the magnesium as she slept for 12 hours straight on a high starting dosage 😂

I have read that most people are deficient in magnesium. I’ve always been a very good sleeper but I’m in my late 60s now and I was starting to have trouble falling asleep. I started taking magnesium glycinate before bed a couple of years ago and it didn’t take long before I was falling asleep almost right away. I’m also a lot calmer than I used to be.
