I'm on Ozempic and I've noticed a lot of muscle loss during this weight loss journey. The good news is my A1c is way down so is the amount of my muscles. So I'm on here to continue my weight loss journey but also to get motivated to get back in the gym and start pumping some iron and build up some muscle and of course to live an overall healthy life style. Friends are always good.

Hi, Lia, and welcome!
It sounds like you have a good plan going forward. Lifting is the most efficient way to gain strength and muscle, whether that's regain or new gain. Add overall good nutrition, especially but not exclusively adequate protein, for best results. If your body weight itself is no longer a major health risk, slower loss rate will also increase odds of gaining new muscle, but it's realistic to expect it to be a slow process. It's worthwhile, though, for sure!
At worst, lifting while still in a calorie deficit, plus the good nutrition, will help you retain as much as possible of your current muscle mass while continuing to lose body fat. That's very worthwhile in itself. The muscle mass gain can become a bigger priority once you reach goal weight or near to it, and there will be various options to look at then. It'll still require patience, but it's possible for the process to pick up steam a bit at that stage.
Realistically, any rapid weight loss can increase chances of muscle-mass loss, especially if exercise isn't in the picture or nutrition is sub-ideal. It's unfortunately not surprising to see people losing some muscle mass with the new GLP-1 drugs, since for some those drugs lead them to faster weight loss rates than they've experienced before.
You can come back from that kind of problem, though, with the right strategies, and it sounds like you're on that track. Wishing you success!

Thank you Ann.
I was personal trainer for over 10 years but you know you're always your worst client, I have finally found an accountability partner who also work out with me so I am very optimistic that I'll be able to gain back the muscle that I have lost and reshake my body back to close to where it used to be. Patience has never been my middle name but I'm going to have to apply it at this time I know thank you for your response.1
