Over eating

App made me realize I was under eating all this time

Today I ate 400cals over my goal

I’m so full and it feels so good

Fuk the calorie counter today I wanted to eat like crap so I did and I’ll say it
IT WAS WORTH IT

No sweat. It's the weekly average that counts. If you're set up to lose at least a pound (or half a kilo) a week, 400 over doesn't even wipe out all of today's calorie deficit (as long as MFP didn't stop you at the minimum 1200 or 1500 calorie goal).

Even at a slower loss rate, smaller daily deficit, you've only delayed reaching goal weight by a few hours by being 400 over one day. Meh. As you say, it can be worth it.

And you're right, it's no big deal. Congrats for realizing that, too many people freak out and catastrophize about that sort of thing, think they've "ruined everything". Nah.

If you've been under-eating as a pattern, sure, fix that going forward. It's unsustainable. IMO the big goal isn't just reaching the right body weight, it's staying there long term. That's going to depend on finding and practicing happy new long-term habits, and as you've discovered, under-eating isn't one of them.

    Best wishes!
