Hello, I’m Sylvia I prefer to be called Sylvie. The app is a bit overwhelming right now. Making changes for health requires changing my routine and setting time aside to learn and it’s a process. I’m trying to stay open minded. Nutrition is of paramount importance as I age.

Hello and welcome, Sylvie!
It's perfectly normal for MFP to be a bit overwhelming at first. Fortunately, we don't have to be completely perfect or expert every single day from day 1 in order to be on a path toward health, weight or fitness goals.
There's a learning curve for the app, and it can seem time-consuming initially, until we learn some of the features that save time, plus learn how to best use them in our own preferred routines. I remember wondering if I was going to get it, or how long I'd be able to keep it up. That was almost 10 years ago, initially weight loss then maintenance. Not everyone goes this route, but I still log here most of the time, and it's a rare day that takes me as much as 10 minutes. It's usually more like a couple. To me, that's a small time investment for the huge quality of life improvement I got from reaching a healthy weight, bringing health markers back into a routinely good range, and staying reasonably active to maintain fitness.
Depending on background, there may also be learning to do about nutrition or exercise and the like. If that's the case for you, don't be afraid to post your own discussions in the relevant part of the Community here. There aren't many professionals like trainers or dietitians, but there are a lot of people who've gone through this process themselves and learned a lot. Generally, I've found that people here truly want to help others succeed, and can offer tips for us to check out and maybe adopt if they fit our needs.
