New

New to the app, been using it for about a fortnight now. I’m looking to see if there is anyone who is diabetic type 2 eating low carbs but also a vegetarian diet as I soooo need meal ideas ☺️ feel free to add me 😌

Here's a website that might give you some ideas......

You can set macro parameters for carbs and choose a diet preference.

You might look in the Groups section.....

There's a plant-based group that isn't particularly active anymore, but you might get some ideas from past posts in that group:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/145477-herbivores-of-mfp

It's for vegans, vegetarians, and plant-heavy omnivores, and a lot of the people who've posted there are whole foods oriented, so potentially lower in high glycemic index carbs. I think you can look at the group without being a member; I'm not sure whether any of the group admins are still around to add members, though.

I'm a long term (50+ years) ovo-lacto vegetarian. I admit, I think very low carb eating would be somewhat challenging for a vegetarian, and I'm not diabetic, but my understanding is that managing carbs is a key issue, not necessarily reducing carbohydrates from whole foods to the absolute bare minimum. There exist keto vegans, I'm told, so it may be possible, but I would think that would be quite challenging to do and get solid overall nutrition, at least if trying to get that nutrition from whole foods.

    Just my opinions, though.

However you proceed, I'm cheering for you to succeed!
  • Thank you very much, yes it is very challenging but I’m trying my best. Thank you so much I will look into the group.
