I have been eating this Mexican casserole 3 times a week. It has tasted too good to be true and I added the macros up and it is not 240, but 310! Can anyone make sense in why this label is wrong?gdmtr5uaqri5.png

Labels aren't always correct, and some variability is allowed by the regulations, at least in the US.

    BTW, I got 283 calories:

    19g fat x 9 calories = 171 calories
    23g carbs - 6g fiber = 17g net carbs
    17g carbs x 4 calories = 68 calories
    11g protein x 4 calories = 44 calories
    171 + 68 + 44 = 283 calories

Yeah, that's a noticeable difference from 240 calories. I can see why it would be a shock. Still, and maybe this is just me, but 43 extra calories 3x a week doesn't seem like a major big deal as a practical matter. If that's the only thing going on, it's going to take 27 weeks, call it half a year, to make 1 pound difference in body weight. You may be better, but I'd guess I'm that far off just from infrequent restaurant meals I have to estimate and that sort of thing. ;)

If you're concerned about it, and want to keep eating it because you like it, you could always make your own custom food entry for logging it, with a calorie level you think is more accurate, 310 or whatever.

Food labels can be off by 20% legally. If there’s a discrepancy, I always take the higher number to be safe especially if it’s a food that I’m going to eat often because if you underestimate those calories overtime, they really add up and make you underestimate your overall calories.
