I weighed and miserable 367 pounds.
Lied to myself and never acknowledged I had an issue. I became a diabetic. Still not fully embracing my problem.
That Day Jan. 1, 2016, I started using My Fitness Pal. I found it to help keep me honest and accountable.
I dropped down over a period of years to 262 losing 105 pound!
Stopped using this wonderful tool and got back up to 292 - 308 for a number of years.
I am back at it, Jan. 1, 2025 weight was 302 pounds, Jan. 21st My weight was 292.
So, I lost 10 pounds. I am using the app again and finding it so enjoyable

@yates6657 Keep up the good work. I would like to lose 30 lbs in three months. I agree logging my foods really does help. I like to log my food in the morning. Then if the calories are too high or my macros are way off, I can readjust my meals.
Good luck to you!3 -

Sounds like we are very similiar. In July of 2019, I weighed 372 and over the last five years I've managed to lose 80 pounds. One of the best things I can recommend to anyone that wants to lose weight is not to be afraid of the scale. That's how I ended up in the first place by having such a high weight and not wanting to weigh myself. I might be over doing it but what works best for me is a daily ritual of stepping on the scale in the morning so I know how to tackle the day to pursue losing weight for my weekly goal of 1 to 2 pounds.

@scottydewwannalosewt I do the same thing. I weigh myself every morning at around the same time. When I don't weigh myself regularly, the weight seems to creep back on without me even realizing it. With daily weigh-ins, if I see the scale moving in the wrong direction, I can adjust things.1

For a while I was weighing myself and entering the weight into a spreadsheet daily. However, I've changed that to that now I still weigh myself daily but don't keep track of the weight daily. Instead I keep track of my weight from week to week to show progress.2 -
I LOST 11 pds my first week. then I went on an eating binge the 2nd week and gained it all back. I am really going to do it this time, keep score and learn how many calories everything has. Can not wait to hear from all of you how you are eating too loose weight.0

I am a repeater on myfitnesspal. I just never know what to eat. I know it seemslike there are so many choices out there but I find I do not use my total calories per day. If I keep eating to use them up, it is always the wrong kind of foo, mostly carbs. Because of health issues, I am not allowed to eat veggies or fruit. I do cheat and eat green beans, peas and corn on occasion just to fill out a meal. I also cannot have lettuce or tomatoes. These are all the things we eat to lose weight and it is very frustrating for me. I will have surgery fairly Currently I am doing a 1200 calorie diet per day.0
