Tiny red number “2” on app icon is?

What is the tiny red number “2” on the app’s icon on my iPhone? What is this indicating to me? I find no messages or notifications when I open the app that removes this mysterious number 2. I am new and have been using the trial premium for one week now

    Thanks. Yes, from main page, bell icon got me to the communications which I read and deleted

    Hmm, I also use the iOS version of MyFitnessPal and haven’t seen that, but I would assume - as you do, it means you have two unread notifications.

    If you go back to the main page of the MFP app, tap on the ‘dashboard’ icon - you should see a bell icon near the top, it may also have the 2 above it, press it to reveal the notifications and hopefully banish the number.

    If this doesn’t work, maybe it means you have two forum notifications? If you look at the top right of the screen you’re on now you’ll see your profile pic, in your case a silhouette, tap on it, do you see a bell with a number at the top?
