MFP doesn’t allow you to add a recipe to a recipe. You have to either calculate the amounts of ingredients from the original recipe you’d use in the recipe you’re trying to make or else create the new recipe without any of the old recipe elements and then add the quantity of the original recipe as a separate entry. So you’d have Spinach Smoothie recipe with your spinach and berries and whatnot entered and then 1/2 c homemade yogurt. Then you can save those two together as a meal for future entries. At least that’s how it worked when I used to use recipes.
Intuitive, right?0 -
You can edit a recipe and save it under a new name, too, so you'd have both available for the future.
ETA the only answer I know to the question in your title: There is a search function for your own recipes in Recipes, Meals & Foods in the phone/tablet app. AFAIK, it only searches the recipe titles. If there's a way to search our own recipes in the web browser version of MFP, I don't know where it is.0
