Keep twitching in my sleep

Hi, I hope someone can suggest how to stop this as it's driving me + my partner nuts!
You know the jolt you get when falling asleep? I get this several times while trying to get to sleep, mainly in my leg. I can feel the tension building in it and if I give it a wiggle it sometimes stops me kicking out. My partner says on a bad night I'll be twitching and kicking out several times. I've read up that it can be anxiety driven so am trying meditation and lavender oil, but would be grateful for any other advice! Thank you...

You might take a look at your magnesium intake, maybe supplement if it's low. It's not a panacea, but it helps some people.1

Ib would second the magnesium suggestion.
And, if it's anxiety, perhaps try some breathing exercises in bed right before going to sleep? There are apps where a voice guides you to breathe in and out in a certain rhythm (for example 'Calm' and 'Breathe: relax and focus').1 -
Have you looked into twitchy leg syndrome? There are various treatments for it so definitely worth looking into.1

I think touching base with your doctor would be beneficial1

Another vote for the magnesium supplement, it worked for me and for my husband.1
