Eating mostly things like lean meat, fish, veggies, fruits and whole grains tends to help most people avoid cravings, compared to eating lots of highly processed and refined foods that aren't as filling. Don't go to silly-low calories trying to lose weight fast: That just makes it harder. Many people feel more full if they get enough protein through the day, though some find fats more filling. Getting enough good quality sleep can also help, because fatigue increases cravings. Ignoring what/how the other people in the household eat may help psychologically, plus not reacting to any comments they might make about your eating.
If you're under 18, it's against the rules to be here, because young people's nutritional and calorie needs are quite different from those of full adults. If you're under 18, instead look for help from someone like a coach, school nurse, your doctor, or similar who may be able to connect you with sources that can help with nutrition suitable for your age.1 -
pre plan your food for the day in the morning. go ahead and weigh / measure everything you can and log it ahead of time.
i also do some of this on sundays â prepping lunches for the week especially.
when you need lunch or a snack⊠itâs already measured out and the decisions are already made1 -
know it's ok to eat differently from other people. See if you can have space for your own food either in the community fridge and cabinets or getting some of your own. I had a really hard time eating properly when living with my family until I got my own fridge. I moved out of that situation, but my boyfriend and I do not eat the same foods and I'm ok with that.1
