    Welcome to MFP @scstrain

You set it up on your phone.
    1.) go to health app

This should set your watch up to synch with MFP.

One caveat, if you start doing multiple exercises a day, you may want to activate the Apple Watch Adjustment. Long involved explanation, not worth it unless you’re spinning your “move” ring at least three times’ish a day.

Apple Watch “learns” your activity, if you are new to it, and will get better and better at estimating your calorie burn.

As you lose weight, your calorie burn will likely decline for the same exercise, because you’re lighter and more efficient and not burning as much as you were, heavier.

And don’t panic if Apple Watch says, say 250 for a treadmill session at the gym, while the treadmill itself claims 400,550, or even more.

Gym equipment is notoriously unreliable for providing accurate burn information.

Congrats on the Watch. Using mine was what made me truly understand the concept of “calories in/calories out”. I had zero understanding that an hour walk didn’t burn off a whole box of Little Debbie’s or half a carton of Breyers. Learning how hard it is to burn 100 calories rocked my world.
