Create Protien Subgroup

Create a secondary protein group or don't count incomplete proteins in my over all goals. Such as Collagen and Bone Broth. They are essentially zero score proteins and I would like to just focus on complete proteins for my goals.

    I don't think MFP has the data available to them to be able to do that accurately. All the data they have is what users entered in the food database from the food labels. Food labels - at least in the US - don't break down foods by essential amino acid completeness.

    Pretty much all they have is the food name. For example, some brands of collagen might have added some amino acids to up the completeness score, but the name wouldn't reflect that.

    Many foods, especially food products of multiple ingredients, contain several protein sources, and some of those sources may be complete in essential amino acids, but others aren't. All MFP has is the name of the food, and the total protein from the label. For example, if there's a frozen beef and broccoli entree, both of those foods have protein, but the beef is EAA complete and the broccoli isn't. Their total protein is added together in the protein on the label.

    Maybe even more complicated, some plant-based/vegan frozen meals are intentionally formulated to have at least some amino acid completeness by combining foods that are low in some amino acids with other foods that are high in those amino acids. MFP has no access to the ingredient list, just the food name and total protein number.

    As 50+ years a vegetarian, someone used to thinking about protein quality including amino acid completeness, I understand that what you're asking for would be useful. As someone with around 30 years' experience in data analysis, data definition, and data design, unfortunately I don't think it's possible to achieve in the MFP context on any reasonable time scale, or really at all with the data they have and could reasonably get in sufficiently accurate detail.
