where's the red line next to food items on your diary to allow deletion

Sometimes I don't get a response when I try to add an item and I try again, then end up with it listed twice. I used to see a red line or mark to the right of the item that I could click (this is on the web) to delete the duplicate entry. I haven't seen that for two days. I end up going to the phone app and editing the duplicate quantity to zero, which gets rid of the calories but not the entry. Why can't I delete it as before
