This guy has multiple accounts...Same guy in the profile pics but different pics for each. Be wary of scammers as they typically do that sort of thing.

There’s another called chris75 among other variants same guy in pics .. asking what device you use in one way or another. Obviously scammers line, some have a marine back ground and 2 kids trying to get you to chat via snap email or telegram.
Please people don’t fall for it 👍

It's easy to forget that a message board like this is just another form of social media. You have to use the same precautions you use for creepers on Facebook or Instagram. The only thing the "friend" function does is let you send private messages back and forth and to see someone's diary if they have it set to "friends only". My personal opinion is that if someone can't say something on the public board, I don't care to see it anyway. I believe I have my profile set to private. Or else I don't see where message notifications and friend requests are. It's just not a function that is of any value to me.

If you do want to use the friend function, I'd just caution you to check out ANY friend requests and only accept if you know them from posting on the boards or can see that they have a significant post count.

I had one before and looks like the same guy popped up again with different name, but same profile photos. Before it was chriscjs790 and nowsmithj2416. But looks like Smithj128697 is a fake as well, because the profile photo is Col John Jones. I know because chrisjs790 used his photo when I started to chat with him on Facebook.

Honestly, unless the person sending you a friend request is someone you have specifically talked to on the community here, they are 100% a scammer. No exceptions.

Since MFP got rid of the main reason for the friend feature (there used to be a newsfeed feature), aside from wanting to talk privately with someone you've connected with on the community, or to share your diary with someone you know, the main use of the friend feature is these scammers, and they all have the same playbook.

If you don't know or recognise the profile sending you a request, just don't bother accepting it.
