Hello everyone!

What's your favorite quick and easy work out? How do you guys like to stay active when it feels like you just have no time to do so?

I have a few exercises like squats, leg lifts, etc. I just do every day because it's habit like brushing my teeth. But, I like to do the 5 minute Denise Austin workouts from YouTube, too, sometimes. If I just plan a few minutes so as to motivate myself, it'll usually turn into a longer workout.

if it’s quick and easy, it’s seldom a workout, or one worth doing.

As far as easy, tie on your shoes, and take the dog/kids/husband/dog/favorite music or podcast for a walk.

If you’re a faster runner than me, you can knock out a mile or two or three quickly.

Fresh air is good for the soul, and it doesn’t get easier than that.

There’s some short exercises on Apple and other venues, but tbh, I didn’t find them challenging, and that was even when I was still obese. I feel strongly about what @nossmf said in another thread.

Choose a weight which challenges you during the movement, so at the end of your set you feel like you couldn’t have done 1-2 more reps if your life depended upon it. If you can't get all the reps in, it's too heavy; if you feel you could have done a dozen more, it's too light, pick a heavier weight next time.

He was specifically discussing weightlifting, but I think this applies to most exercise, in terms of challenge creating benefit:

PS: pleeeeeeease don’t fall for the quick and easy cartoon clickbait: “Your Age” chair yoga or wall Pilates. Your finger clicking will get more exercise than the rest of you. 😘

I don't do quick and easy. I do strength training, bodyweight or barbell at home, go running, hiking, cycling, just go somewhere.

@springlering62 Thank you for the detailed answer. I do workout with a trainer and she says the same thing about weight and reps and I definitely agree! I just need a few workout ideas that I can do at the house with my own weights, without having to turn on the TV because I tend to forget the things that I know from the gym. @AdahPotatah2024 had great advice, too! Planning a few minutes to workout usually will lead to a longer workout. I don't do a lot of running but I walk and go hiking and things like that. I'm definitely an active person. I guess when I said, "quick and easy," I really meant, know any at home workouts I can do without turning on YouTube? I use YouTube and like it but sometimes I want to just pick up my weights and start working out. I just always draw a blank on what I can do, lol. Thanks, everyone! This was all great advice and definitely motivated me to get moving today!
