How to set calorie goal

hi, I’m new and want to set up a weight loss plan. My resting calorie expenditure is about 1300 calories and I want to lose 1/2 lb a week. How do I set the default calories to 1300?
thanks!

Welcome!
MFP doesn't use a resting calorie target, it uses NEAT (basically it calculates your BMR plus accounts for your basic non-exercise activity calorie expenditure).
If you are relatively sedentary you can indicate that but it will still account for small basic movements throughout the day. That's how the app works.
If you go thjrough the "Goals" section it will ask you some basic questions and give you a daily calorie goal, then just try to eat to that (weighing and measuring your food) and monitor the results. It's that easy!
Good luck!
