As easy or as hard as in other countries. Weigh everything you eat, chose apporpriate database entries. Of course preparing your own food will mean you know how much of everything is in it.

A lot harder simply because I would be all over the food from street vendors in Taiwan. 😃

Depends. Are you doing your own cooking? Do you have an ayi cooking for you? Are you eating out a lot? I live nearby and I had to ask my first ayi to stop cooking and I had to take over for myself. She was using so much oil, so much salt, and sauces that added in so many unwanted calories. The ayi I have now listened to me and steams my vegetables (lots of them), and roasts the meat and fish. My partner thinks that everything is bland, but he knows that it's helped me to lose a substantial amount of weight and lower my blood pressure, so he knows it isn't going to change.

It's no harder to lose weight in Taiwan than anywhere else if you are logging what you eat and you keep to your calorie goal.
