Answer to the Cooked Pasta Question....

Ok, just measured out 3cups of whole wheat rottini. Strained it then put it on the scale.
3cups=18oz
so 1cup=6oz

    The pasta labels usually have calories for uncooked pasta. The water weight will throw off the scale amounts.

    Thanks for the input on 6 oz for one cup rotini. Sometimes I measure by cup and sometimes by my postal scale--the thing is great in the kitchen.

    I always measure 2 oz of dry uncooked pasta, which is one serving. Once it's cooked it can measure more than a cup, so I always make sure I measure it dry for accuracy.

    It was one cup of dry measured by volume vs. 6oz by weight after it was cooked.
