MyFitnessPal isn't just for tracking calories. You'll also be able to track what contributes to those calories, commonly known as macronutrients or macros, when adding a food to your diary.

Macros, including carbs, fat, and protein, will be listed right here on the food items page. You'll find macro amounts listed in both grams and percentage, but you'l also be able to see how the foods you eat contributed towards your daily goals.

Once you have food logged into your diary, you can access information on your macronutrients directly on the dashboard. Swipe right, then tap on the macros panel to go to the nutrition page where you can review in-depth details on your calories, macros, and even micronutrients.

You can also navigate here in the more menu or by tapping the header at the top of your diary. You can review any day you've logged with the dropdown menu or switch to a week view with the tap of a button.

Each of these nutrients has its own sub-menu on the nutrients page. You can review your daily average and, with a MyFitnessPal premium subscription, even see what foods are contributing most towards that nutrient goal.

I don’t understand why when I look at nutrition and foods highest in … even if I expand the lists the pint of semi-skimmed milk I drink per day never features under protein or indeed anywhere else. Surely milk is considered to be a food? Yoghurt gets listed though.

Hi, you might want to check your food item to ensure it's correct. Since foods are user-entered, the one you're using may not have the protein listed. Review it in your food diary to see if the nutrition details are provided. If not, find a new one of the same size or brand in the diary next time you log and use that instead.

for the fat category what is that calculating. Cause when I add up the polyunsaturated monounsaturated trans fat and saturated fat it never equal to that one line that just says fat. So it’s throwing me off. For example I’ll have 20 gram of good fat and zero grams of the bad and that fat line will say like 26 where those other 6 grams come from. I make sure to copy the data straight from the container into the app when I create my food items
