Help?!

6 weeks ago I started on Lantus ( insulin). At that time, I also started counting calories, moving a lot more, etc. I have not lost 1 pound. Not one! It is SO frustrating!! Anyone else have this experience with insulin meds and trying to lose weight?

Hi, can you give a bit more information? Is the Lantus for T1 or T2 diabetes? How much do you have to lose? Age, weight, activity level? How have you set your calorie goal, and how have you been tracking your calories?
It could be many things, AFAIK Lantus isn't one of the diabetes meds that is associated with weight loss, but the medical reason you have started taking it could have impact on your losses, or it could be a logging issue, a counting issue, a calorie goal issue, or any combination.

I’m 52 , T2, just started insulin ( the lantus) 6 weeks ago. I’m walking nearly every day 3-5 miles depending. Typically hike saturdays . 6-7 miles . Yoga 3-5 times a week. Just started weight training yoga on Mondays . So this is very new.
Need to lose 35 pounds. And my fitness pal decided on caloric daily goal. I do best with around 1400-1500 calories ( as long as I exercise).

How do you track the calories you consume? Do you use information on packaging, spoons and cups or a scale? Do you eat out a lot?
Also, how often do you weigh yourself? You said you started lots of different exercise over those weeks. Starting new exercise can cause water retention for muscle healing. It usually sticks around for a week or so. If a new exercise and the water weight gain correspond to a single scale trip then any weightloss might simply be hidden.1 -
I use my fitnesspal and I go by the serving size on the back of the package. Or log veggies based on amount consumed.
I weigh every few days. Weighing daily is just depressing when the scale isn’t moving in the right direction.

Are you putting what you eat on a digital food scale so you can log it in grams and ounces? That's been key to my success. It sounds like overkill - maybe even feels like overkill in the beginning - but you quickly get fast at it and it's no big deal at all. I throw most of what I eat on the scale — grapes, sliced cheese, sourdough bread from publix, peanut butter.
