Newbie w/questions about database

Hi all. New to this site, but not to dieting. At this point I know what I need to do; I just need to do it. I have been tracking my food for the last 5 days. I was excited to see so many foods from Aldi and Giant already in the database. It has been easy to use products that come with labels. My question is where do the values for eggs, fruits and vegetables come from? When it says scrambled egg, why are the calories so much higher than just an egg. Is oil or butter included in it? I have noticed duplicates of some items. Have all the items been entered by MFP members?

Just curious. Trying to do this the right way. I have been reading the posts to get inspiration. This sounds like a wonderful place to be.
