Starting over in my 40s

I was a big gym rat in my 30s and in decent shape. Derailed by brain surgery and busy with teens and now in my early 40s I have at least 20 lbs to lose and want to get my strength back. Anyone else hit middle age and suddenly find it a lot harder to stay in shape? Willing to dish out some motivation (or solidarity)? Planning to get back to tracking and trying to find time to lift when I can.

Me! I'm 47. Weight is fine, but need to change my diet for health reasons that didn't seem to be an issue before. I would love solidarity. I'll join your buddy group! :)

I feel stronger and am in better shape than I was in my 20s. I was at SoulCycle yesterday and there was a 65 yr old women who was in the most amazing shape! Riding front row killing it!
Middle age can be the best years.. I feel like marketing has people giving up and retiring… I think being overweight causes more fatigue than age.
Prove them wrong! Be your best self! 💪

Me! I just restarted my journey, I’d lost about 40 lbs in 2015-2016. Then we moved to another country, kids went through adolescent, covid, and perimenopause helped my lazy bum gain 30 back…. I’m done, I’m so depressed by my state of (un)health and I’m only 48.
I want to be healthy again, not have all this aches and pains, build some more muscle and start liking who I am again!!2
