I am having the hardest time meeting my calorie deficit. I track my meals and I ALWAYS over eat. I'm 38, male, 6ft, 217lbs and workout 3 times a week. I am not losing weight and it's frustrating. I'm set at 1950 cals a day but end up eat 2400... I'm feeling like a failure and it sucks! Any suggestions?

If you're eating around 500 calories over goal daily, that would be expected to wipe out around a pound a week of potential fat loss. If you're set for more than a pound a week, you might still be losing fat: It matters what your calorie needs are, how accurate your logging is, and that sort of thing. Fat loss can take several weeks - like 4-6 - to show up clearly in average weight changes on the scale. Bodies are like that.

Beyond that, I'd have to ask why you think you're overeating: Appetite? Boredom? Some kind of stress/emotional eating? Habit? Unfamiliarity with cooking or food prep? Fast food or restaurant meals? Temptations in your environment? Irresistible treats? Social triggers or FOMO? Shooting for too-extreme weight loss? Restrictive eating rules you're trying to follow that trigger compensatory eating? New exercise triggering hunger? Something else?

I'm sure folks here would be happy to brainstorm some ideas with you that you could try for improving the situation, but it would help if you could narrow down why you think this is occurring. Most of us have wrangled our way through challenges and roadblocks during weight loss, and most people would like to help.

    Best wishes!
