Are all the recipes super unhealthy???

Just started this week, and both dinner recipes they’ve set for me have several tablespoons of sugar in and ZERO vegetables. Is this normal? I feel like I’ve eaten unhealthier stuff this week than I would even if I wasn’t trying to lose weight.

I'm intrigued as to what these recipes are…

The meal plans here are quite new, so not that many people who are experienced with MFP will have experience with the new meal plans. The old - now defunct - meal plans mostly seemed to rely on recipes from the MFP blogs, which are mostly healthy things in my experience. I think - not sure - the new meal plans with the grocery orders and such are relying on a subcontractor at least in part, so may not be the same at all.
That said, added sugar is not the devil that much of the blogosphere would have a person believe. In most recipes I'm familiar with - only a few exceptions - sugar is not a structural ingredient, so the recipe can simply be made with less sugar. It will of course be less sweet, unless some non-calorie sweetener is substituted.
Even in many sweet baked goods, where sugar is sort of structural, the sugar can often be cut as much as half and still end up with a reasonable end product.

They gave me 2 recipes which would be my meals for 5 nights as I said I was okay with leftovers. One was a sweet and sour chicken recipe with 3 tablespoons of white sugar, and one was Japanese chicken drumsticks with the same. No accompanying veg factored into the recipes. I am doing calorie deficit and sugar triggers my migraines. We’ll have to disagree on the benefits of sugar!! 😁

sweet and sour is unlikely to be a recipe without sugar. Or some sugary ingredient - like pineapple juice. It usually has veggies in it though.
obviously if added sugar is a problem for you, look for other recipes or don't put it in the recipe.
just like anyone who got migraines from any other ingredient

If you like the recipes, I'd just add a big super greens salad and voilà healthy:D

hmm I would just cut the sugar by half. Or choose different recipes that don’t call for added sugar. Or look for a sugar substitute…maybe orange juice instead? Google will tell ya.

I'm such a food snob, I have to admit I'm laughing at how anglicised those 2 recipes need to be to be calling for tablespoons of white sugar haha.

Un-heart the Asian food options and stick to Mediterranean. Asian sauces are typical made with sugar
