Idk how to start this but I'm gonna do it!!

Hey yall! I have never genuinely tried to lose weight but I've always been big and just kinda accepted it. Well at 32 I've finally decided I don't have to just accept it!! Because I keep getting bigger and bigger and I am embarrassed by it. But I have no idea what I'm doing! Plus I'm a picky water. I hate working out and it hurts because I can't breathe I get winded easily. Was a smoker for 17 years but quit a year ago! But I am willing to try new things because I want to change so badly. Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations on quitting smoking! If you can do that, there's a good chance you can conquer weight control.
First step is to figure out how much you you should be eating. MFP has a guided set-up for that, which I recommend because it will work with the way MFP is intended to work, which is not counting the effect of intentional exercise until you actually di it and log it.
Then start logging your food. Initially I would recommend only worrying about calories and trying to stay within or no more than 100 calories over your daily goal. Once you've got that figured out, you can decide if you want to worry about macros or using weekly averages so you have more wiggle room for days you want to eat more (parties, weekends, whatever).
