How do I scan bar codes?

app won’t scan barcodes unless I go premium yet it does on my wife’s phone and she is not premium.

How long has your wife been a member, and what country are you from? Scanning is a premium feature, but it seems like in some countries, people who have been members since before it was changed to be a premium feature still get it for free.
