Just downloaded trial. I have a question straight away, can I scan a plate of food and have the calories counted?

No. I believe you can only scan the barcode. On what your cooking with, or eating. Thats on the product. To help find the products calorie intake on myfitnesspal. For your dairy. Unless they stopped offering that. You can't physically scan a plate of food. You could scan a barcode off pre-made dinner boxes they sell in grocery stores. To find calorie intake in your myfitnesspal. Before putting it on a plate. Than it will show calories in that meal. Plus it's usually labeled. On back of box or product. I believe the scan is a faster way to impute the calories instead of typing. What brand of pasta you're eating or what ever.
