It's hard to do any kind of workout when you had surgery to fix your femur due to it being broken and you have to walk with a walker so it's hard to do a lot of work out

I was visiting a friend yesterday who had knee surgery a couple of weeks ago.
She was wishing for the chair classes we got during the masked aftermath of lockdown, when the pool was closed. (She’s an avid swimmer). She feels like she could do those.
I used to go to keep my husband company, even though my own gym had reopened to select members (including me). Frankly, I had a stick up my hind end about “easy” classes. I learned, you can make a chair workout as easy or as hard as you want, and I had a blast
Do you have a gym, hospital, Y, or rehab center nearby that offers them?
There’s several people at my current gym working with trainers, who have knee and leg issues. One was conducting a marvelous workout on a rolling office chair, down what I fondly call the Hallway of Doom. It looked like a good workout. Our training team are very creative in creating workouts, because we have members from 20’s to 90’s. It’s a very diverse group, both age and health wise.
My knee friend has a visiting PT in the home three times a week, covered by her Medicare. Check into that, if you’re eligible.
Any gym will have benches and free weights, or upper body equipment. You don’t have to do mega weights that require bracing with your legs. Anything is better than nothing.
My gym is highly accessible, with a ramp, an elevator, handicapped shower and changing rooms, and a pool lift.
After several bouts of an illness, I sat around and felt sorry for myself I bet I gained twenty pounds every few years each time just from that when it recurred. I was well into obese BMI after the last episodeI will not let that happen again. If it’s physical, seek help If it’s a mental block or depression, seek help. Feeling sorry for yourself accomplishes nothing. When I wrecked my bike last year, I didn’t break my hip as feared, but I was bruised from one end to the other, and movement hurt.
I gave myself four or five days and got back at it. It was awkward, it was ugly, it was not graceful, but it was a darn sight more satisfying than sitting around pissing and moaning and collecting pounds as I would have done before.
I’m sorry about your femur, but you make out of it what you want to. You can use it as an excuse, or you can go the “F this, I’m not sitting around in a chair a minute longer than I have to” route.
Hugs. Don’t mean to sound harsh. We’ve all been in the Pity Party boat at one time or other. 🤷🏻♀️
