Newbie

Hi, I'm Carol. I'm in Charlotte, NC. I lost 70 lbs but now I'm stuck around 250lb. I'm hoping My Fitness Pal can help me get my weight loss started again.

Congratulations on your weight loss! It’s a great tool. Plateaus will drive you nuts. I’ve been on a quest to figure them out and from what I’ve deduced you have to do something different—eat more or eat less, work out more or workout less, something. Tracking your food honestly is key. 200 extra calories, consistently, can sabotage, especially women. After losing 70 lbs your body is working less to breathe, walk, etc, so you may need to lower your calories slightly. Just some ideas.
I’ve been on MFP for 12 years. I lost 75 lbs over the course of the first two years. Eventually I gained every pound back. I did use MFP occasionally through those years, tracking my weight. Now I’m back, trying again. I’m 65 lbs down this second time. The fun thing is that I have 12 years of weight records—down and then back up, and now down again, with pics! It’s been fun to compare my progress and pictures. I just this week was able to buy regular size 16 clothes, a huge NSV for me.
Welcome!
