Frustrating

I am about 2.5 weeks into a calorie deficit. I usually weigh myself every Thursday. So by week 2, I went from 175 to 167. I spent the weekend (2 days) away and having fun with my friends. I woke up at 173. It's frustrating that all 2 weeks work can be undone in 2 days. Now what?

Quit doing that and it's probably water weight from a lot of extra sodium you ate while having fun.0

First and foremost: Don't PANIC!
You'll fluctuate normally on an average day anyway due to water weight. Don't be alarmed. If you really MUST weigh yourself daily, record it and look at trends over time (weeks, not days) rather than single time points. You may also want to take measurements if you're in need of metrics to validate or encourage you. Sometimes the scale doesn't change, but your body sure does.0 -
Yeah... your mentality can't be all about weight. It will screw you up. You didn't gain 5 pounds of fat in 2 days. I guarantee you. Get back in the game today and eat right, exercise, drink water, etc... you'll lose that weight plus a little extra, just like you're supposed to.0

I weigh every day and my graph looks like a saw blade with constant flux. However, the trend is quite obvious after several weeks, you will see a downward trend if you are truthful on your log and under the red line for net calories. You just started, be patient. The turtle wins, not the hare.0

Could it be there's excess food still in your intestines? Go for a poop and you'll be mostly back on track0

That much weight really can't be undone in two days. It is water weight, drink a *kitten* ton of water and give it a couple of days while eating at your normal rate.0

It's going to go up occasionally. Mine does all the time. I just don't log the gains, because they're just water weight or whatever, and I keep doing what I know works, and in a day or two or three there is another loss to record. It's not your weight on any particular day that matters, it's the overall trend.0

If you weigh yourself every Thursday, why would you torture yourself by weighing right after a bad weekend? Stick to once a week.0

Unless you went over your goal by 20,000 calories for the weekend, you didn't undo anything. Weight fluctuates and that is normal! Weigh yourself every day and take the average. Use your measurements or the fit of your clothes to judge how much your body has changed. Focus on the big picture, trends over long periods of time. Don't give up!0

Thanks, guys. Its gotta be water weight right? I'll be holding the gallon of water by my side for the next two days. It's just that, if you pay $40 for a buffet, you'll want to get $40 worth of food! its an investment lol...0
