I am starting my journey this week at 335# and feeling overwhelmed. I want to meal plan simple things. I know that prepping is key especially during the week.
I am tired of hurting and feeling like I’m just existing. Will I ever succeed?

You can. It's a choice and decision you can believe and choose many times a day, day after day...

Keep believing, keep exploring to find things that work for you. Onward. Forward. Go for it - the next choice, the next thing - you will get to more choices when you get there - no need to fret it all now. 1st things 1st.

    Yeah, I agree with yakky.

Do one thing today to get yourself closer to your goal. Make it something that isn't too painful - like give up one thing and add one thing.

For instance: Add daily food logging without trying to be perfect with food. No one is perfect with food.

Don't have dessert after lunch today, or maybe don't buy a fancy coffee drink or don't drink soda pop with meals. It doesn't have to be everything, and it doesn't have to be forever. Just for today, do one right thing.

Work at it this way, slowly. It's often going to be two steps forward and one step back, but keep going with making positive changes.

If you look at this as a long term incremental commitment where one change builds on another and your intention is to keep moving forward then you will.

I agree with @cmriverside most of the time and I even agree with her that small changes that accumulate are a great way to start exploring and building your future.

I even agree with testing some of these changes for a while to see if they are something you're willing to do long term, even forever.

But I do think that one of the criteria for incorporating a change is that it is something you see yourself doing for many years--not just for a week or two to lose weight quickly.

Recriminations won't help. Regret, even if normal to experience, also won't add to the experience 😝. Looking forward to the next incremental change and exploration WILL! Treat it as a puzzle or a game of exploration if you can. Not as a chore!

I went from class iii obese to normal weight over the span of a couple of years… just about 10 years ago. I'm still at normal weight today. I'm still mindful. Definitely no longer overwhelmed. And extremely happy that in early 2014 I decided to try and change the trajectory of my life.

Good luck with your journey, I found that being mentally prepared was more important to me above all else. Willingness to change then it was baby steps to building a sustainable routine and improving it as high lose weight. Good luck !

yes!!! throw some chicken breasts into a crock pot with some chicken broth and seasoning. sometimes i do garlic, onion, salt, pepper. sometimes i do a tub of pesto with some powdered ranch dressing.

when it’s done, shred it out then put it in containers pre weighted to how much you want in each serving.
