On the micronutrient tracker, do they track added sugar or total sugar?

The database is crowd sourced, food items entered by regular MFP users like you and me.
MFP just adds up whatever those users put in the sugars field of whichever database entries you pick to log.
In theory, what's in there should be the total sugars from the nutrition label if it has a nutrition label, or the total sugars from something like the USDA FoodData Central database if it's a whole food that doesn't have a nutrition label. In theory.
So, total sugars, if people entered the data correctly and we pick the correct entries to log.
BTW, sugar isn't a micronutrient. It's part of one of the tracked micronutrients, specifically carbohydrates. It's broken out on labels because some people eat too much sugar. Yeah, the reason they eat "too much" sugar is usually added sugar. In the US, added sugar is now listed on nutritional labels. IME, it's pretty easy to recognize when I'm choosing/eating sugar, and reduce that if it's an issue. YMMV.
Best wishes!
