Little victories - down 3 pounds!

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so exercise is completely out of the question for me. I also have a strong emotional reaction to feeling hungry most of the time, so I've been aiming for 1600 calories a day and doing pretty well at it.
It's been three weeks of counting calories, and I've lost 3 pounds! At this point I think I could comfortably ratchet down to 1500 calories a day and see what happens. I've also been eating cleaner, boosting my protein intake, and improving the quality of my carbs for more beans and whole grains. And of course it helps that we're coming in to summer and all its beautiful fresh produce.
Yes Virginia, you CAN lose weight without exercise. :-D

Congratulations! I really like how you’re focusing on food quality and what actually feels manageable. Now I know that it's possible to lose weight even without exercise. I've shed some pounds but I still feel I need to lose more. Honestly, I had no idea what an ideal weight should be until I read this article recently about what a healthy weight really means and it kinda helped me think beyond the scale.

This rules! I am so proud of you! Too many people look at big numbers and are always down thinking I can't loose 20 pounds and that's too much and i'll never get there, so they are always in a negative mindset! You're doing awesome, down three, positive win and rad effort, now aim for 3 more, not 20…3. Little wins make this journey fun and encouraging, not a chore and constant failure. I love this!

Thanks everyone! Now that we're approaching the Dog Days of summer, I find I can't imagine life without ice cream. So I'm substituting frozen yogurt (for the protein content) and fruit popsicles. And still loving my cold gazpacho and fresh salads. It really helps to be a foodie and know how to cook and navigate healthy and fun recipes.

Congratulations, I know how hard it can be to lose weight without being to exercise much if at all.
I have nerve and skeletal problems which limit what I can do as well as mental health problems which include periods of binge eating lots of sugary stuff etc to try and myself fell happy. Currently lost just under 2 stone (roughly about 20lbs down) after a year and a half of being careful what I eat, tracking calories but allowing myself the occasional treat. Treats are allowed as long as you take them into account and dont over indulge, if your miserable because you missing your favourite snack then your less likely to stick with it. I found this out early in my journey and ended up bingeing a lot and putting back on what I lost
Here are some ice cream alternatives from Bosch, Hopefully there is something on there that will help you still your ice cream fix but in a less calorific way0
