I Just Hit My First Weight Loss Goal 🏆

Alright, so weight loss can be challenging for many. I know that when I first started I viewed my goal weight as not knowing where to start climbing a mountain. It was such a huge number in my eyes that in the back of my mind I doubted if I could really do it, it just seemed like this immense task that was impossible at times, so why even try it?
Well, boy how important it was for my mindset to change. I decided this time to focus on small little attainable goals, over the big number that I was trying to lose. I set 4 Different weight Goals in my mind, by doing this, it made attaining my desired weight more attainable and it kept me enjoying meeting the target. So, today, I weighed myself and I officially hit my first goal. It wasnt a whole lot of weight, but it represented a major milestone for me, in my eyes it was a paradigm to myself that I CAN do it, that I can achieve what I’m after. I don’t want to JUST lose weight quickly and look and feel good, I want to have a great lifestyle that I can have till my old age and I want to do things that I’ve always wanted to do for myself without my weight holding me back. I’ve lost weight before and I was pretty successful at maintaining, although I did gain only a small fraction of it back.
I think, the trick here for me, is that I needed to focus on the smaller things rather than the overall big goal, as it seemed too daunting for me and it’s been working. My next milestone is only 15lbs away and it represents me being at my lowest weight in over a decade, it’s not the number ITSELF that means anything to me, however it’s the meaning behind the number on the scale and it’s the push the gets me motivated to get ready for the gym in a few mins to get a great workout in.
So in conclusion, it’s great to have an overall goal, but I don’t fixate too much on it rather than what is my next realistic goal to hit AND I celebrate each small victory. This really got me pumped and I’m truly happy to see my progress.
