Separate Categories for Natural Sugars and Added Sugars

I’ve noticed the app lumps all sugar under the same category, regardless of the source. I think it would be helpful to make a distinction between natural sugar and added sugars so users can see what portion of their sugar intake is coming from sources like fruit, dairy, and veggies, and what is coming from processing or table sugar. I imagine this could be an especially helpful feature for people who have pre-diabetes, diabetes, hypoglycemia or any other health concerns where one might be interested in tracking their sugar intake.

YES!!! I just made my own post without realizing you already posted the same concern. My dietician recommends tracking added sugar instead of total sugar, because as you mentioned, natural sugar from whole foods is different than added sugar from processing. It makes a difference for weight loss, and has a huge impact for those with pre-diabetes, PCOS, chronic inflammation, etc.
Users have to go back and look at each individual diary entry to see if that item has added sugar, and then tally it up on paper. Not very efficient, when this wonderful app could add another tracker to set a goal/limit for it. And including it in the nutrition breakdown should be standard practice, as the item's nutrition label has the information.

as the item's nutrition label has the information.
*in the USA. MFP is a worldwide site, and labels in other countries don't have the split out information.
