Well I decided to log on again a few days ago. I noticed that it has been since April of 2011. Things have NOT changed much at all. My weight has been up and down a few lbs over the last couple of years. I need it to go down and stay down. My husband plans on retiring in 3 years at 62, and I would really like to loose the weight and become more active before that happens. So I guess that will be my motivation. I need to loose 70-80 lbs. Which may not seem like much to most people but I am short so I do have a lot of weight on.

Congrats, and welcome back! If you think it might help, there are monthly challenges posted on the first of every month in the forums. I just started a 15-week challenge on MFP; today is the first day of the challenge, and it ends the week before Christmas. (It's in the forums, I think called, "Who's up for a challenge?") I like these "challenges" because they give me a reason to get on here every day and to go out and exercise. They do weekly weigh-ins, and I know that if I don't do anything, I'm going to have to admit that. When I do these challenges consistently, I tend to lose 4-5 pounds a month; I know some people can lose more/faster, but it's a nice steady pace, and every 4-5 pounds I lose is 4-5 closer to my own 70-pound goal.

You can do this. Good luck!
  • I just saw the 20 bs. by Christmas. Is that the one you are talking about?
  • Welcome back. I'm starting back myself. About 2 years ago I was using MFP and working out consistently. Since then, I've gained back the almost 40 lbs I had lost. Time to start over and stick with it this time. I can and will take control of my health and well being.

Hi, Chris! Welcome back and good luck. I'm short, too, so I understand your struggle. Hang in there (here). It works!
