My name is Allie, and I've been a MyFitnessPal (MFP) user for many years. I genuinely enjoy using the app to track my food, and I find it to be the best tool for this, especially since I tend to eat the same foods regularly.


I recently created a new profile because I wanted to change my old username (which was almost 20 years old), but MFP only allows one username change. In the past, I would plan my meals almost every day, but I often didn't stick to them.​ I used to workout about five days a week but once Covid hit and all of the gyms closed, I stopped working out and I haven't been able to get motivated to start again. I would start and then quit after just a few days. It seemed like it would take forever to get back to where I used to be. But now, too much time has passed and too much weight has piled on and I need to do something about it before I am just too far gone.


The entire MFP app feels completely different from what it used to be. I particularly miss the old homepage where I could see my friends' comments and interact with the community. It feels like such a lonely journey now without that communal aspect. I really enjoyed feeling like part of a supportive group, and I hope that feature is still available in some form that I haven't discovered yet.


With this new profile, I'm hoping for a fresh start and to finally reach my goals. I would love to connect with others for accountability, motivation, and companionship on this journey.
