I don't want to be as unhealthy as my parents

My parents are not morbidly obese or anything i just see them as quite lethargic. Probably pretty harsh but unfortunately true.
I am in my late 20's and a couple of years ago i gained weight quite quickly. I wouldn't say i was huge but uncomfortable. I shifted the weight by going to the gym. A mission for me as i found it quite boring and i do not enjoy exercising in front of people. Since this point about 3 months ago i got a push bike and i am loving it.
I understand that drivers seem to hate cyclists but my response to that is bikes were here first!
