They called it a cardiac event I call it an inconvenience I had to stay in the hospital I didn't like it and I didn't like the fact that they were giving me sad material to read so time to change 63 years old and I still want to be here Life changes not diet new lifestyle

As a previous cardiac nurse, I’d say they did their job well because here you are! It sounds like you have a winning (ahem~losing~) attitude!

I hope it was more of a wake-up call than a dire situation. I've had a couple of those!

In any case, I'm very close in age to you. I'm constantly re-learning that my older body needs to be treated with care. Moderate and high-quality food, moderate or no alcohol, regular exercise, sleep, and "high-quality food for the brain" are all important.

New routine habits is exactly the right way to look at it, if you ask me. I started with the weight management side at age 59, and didn't find age a barrier to succeeding. (I'd started being active with exercise some time earlier, but still pretty late in life.) Commitment to the process is the first step toward success.

Wishing you major success, because for me reaching a healthy weight was a huge quality of life improvement: I want that for everyone, including YOU.

    Best wishes!
