I tried it. Worked for about a year, then I started binging when it was time to eat. Had to switch back to doing 3 regular meals a day and tracking calories.

I DO INTERMITANT FASTING, BUT IT IS HARD TO NOT EAT OR DRINK TILL 12. I SWELL FROM SALT, OR WHEN I EAT LATE IT SEEMS THAT I RETAIN, AND MY WEIGHT STAYS HIGHER. BUT IT DOES WORK, AS LONG AS YOU DO EAT AND DRINK IN THAT 6 HOUR WINDOW. IT IS NOT A PRACTICAL WAY TO LIVE, CAUSE DRINKING 10 GLASSES OFVWATER IS HARD. ALSO EAT 3BMEALS AND IN BETWEEN in that windows also seems impractical. Cause when you do want to boredom eat or snack you blow it. Plus I wonder how healthy it truly is for you body or blood sugar!

Sure, some people do, probably even some among the long-term successful folks who still hang around here. It's somewhat popular now.

If the key goal is weight loss, fasting is going to be helpful for people who find it easier to stay within reasonable calories if they fast. Beyond that, there's no dramatic extra weight-loss benefit beyond what comes from the calorie deficit. It's an optional strategy, good for some people, not for others.

I'm not on a "weight loss ride". I'm in weight maintenance after loss. Fasting doesn't appeal to my hedonistic nature, so all through loss and in these 9+ years of maintaining a healthy weight since, I've eaten from soon after I get up in the morning until close to bedtime, occasionally even in bed. That approach, likewise, won't suit everyone. It suits me, and works fine for managing my weight.

Finding the strategies that make the process easiest for you is a key success factor, IMO. If fasting does that for you, I'm all for it, sincerely . . . for you.

    Wishing you success!
