Looking to get off the up and down ride of health and wellness!

Hey there!
My name is Mary and I opened a fitness studio outside of Savannah, Georgia called Effin' Yoga! I've always been a very strong female athlete and danced as well.
Two kids later and approaching 40 has made my life long yoyo dieting and back and forth from heavy weights to running to studio fitness wreak havoc on my body with stress and lack of sleep these days.
I'm hoping to utilize MFP to really focus in and manage my health and nutrition as a fun something to do every day instead of feeling anxious or disappointed in my choices. I know I'm not the only female experiencing life and hormonal changes these days; so I'm hoping using the site and groups will make it more 'fun' and community oriented for my hopes of change and success as I reach my peri and menopausal years!

Those sound like good and achievable goals: It's nice to see someone here who isn't trying to lose 30 pounds by Tuesday. 😆 (OK, I'm exaggerating a little. But your goals DO sound extra sensible.)
I'm an MFP long-termer at this point, joined it in 2015 to make weight management more predictable, lost around 50 pounds in just a bit under a year, have been maintaining a healthy weight since. Like you, I'm active - have been for around 23 years, starting in my 40s - but as primarily an on-water rower. I'm menopausal, hypothyroid, old . . . various things that are claimed to be weight loss doom by silly internet marketers, but that of course aren't.
While I joined for weight loss reasons, I've found MFP helpful for tuning up my nutrition and keeping it reasonably consistent. Participating in various threads/groups here helps me keep my head in the game, too, both as a way to reinforce self-accountability, but also because trying to help others succeed helps me review my habits and learn new things, too.
