well duh. Eat something different. I lost from XXL down to S and never had a problem being bored eating.

What are your favorite foods? Cut the portion sizes. Get creative. How can you lower the calories?

I’ve got a banging lasagna that I’ve tinkered with til it’s half the calories of what it used to be, higher protein by far, and more veggies.

You don’t have to give up favorite foods. You have to rethink favorite foods.

I’d have given up within a week if I’d had to subsist on the same foods over and over and over.

Nowadays, if I have cottage cheese, frozen blueberries and cherries, blueberry balsamic and a spoonful of Grape Nuts every afternoon, it’s because I adore them and can’t wait to dig in!

The only real limitation on which foods you should avoid is if you have any allergies or medical reasons to avoid certain foods. Or if you are trying to use a certain eating style (vegetarian, Keto, etc).

Otherwise, trying to separate foods into "healthy" and "unhealthy" is a fruitless exercise. Even the so-called "junk food" items like candy bars, which admittedly contain few essential nutrients, can have a place in a food plan. I am down 40lbs from my highest weight, and the entire time losing I have continued to have daily desserts (usually cookies or ice cream), weekly donuts, monthly pizza and burgers. If you cannot resist overeating these items you may need to remove them entirely, but if you structure your food plan to reach all your nutritional needs and still have calories left over, these foods can be perfectly acceptable.

Even if you choose to stick with a basic "chicken and vegetables" idea as "healthy", there are hundreds of ways to prepare to avoid boredom. Try different sauces, different spices. Try different preparation methods (sauteed, baked, broiled, grilled, fried, etc). The same chicken can be paired with dozens of different vegetables on the side, or chopped up and mixed together. My family has twenty-seven different meals that can be categorized as "chicken and vegetables" which we rotate between, and I guarantee there is a huge variety in how they taste!
