Hi All,
I just posted my photo and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I did it to motivate me to be able to show you all different pics as I lose the weight. I am at 258 and look like this. I am determined in one month to change that pic and let all you see the difference.

It is definately hard. when I first began I didn't have a camera but I should look for an old picture just to show the differences. But you can see it in my face for sure.
You can do this. Stay focused and make each choice count.:bigsmile:0 -
Bravo! That takes a lot of courage! MFP and all of the support here will help you reach your goals!
It took me at least 6 weeks before I would tell my husband my original weight, let alone a bunch of strangers!0 -
I totally agree Bri.
I began at 280:noway: that is scarey and I never thought I was that big. But I am now down to 236:happy: and still truckin slow but sure.
You can do this PJ.0 -
Thanks for the encouragement. Focus and planning is what has helped with the 16lbs so I know it can work.0

The picture in my profile is about 15 lbs. ago...I started at 188 and I'm at 173 now. I didn't think I was that big until I saw some pictures of myself and I said, holy crap!!!:noway:
pj, you can do it!!0 -

Living in denial and ignoring the numbers would be even worse. Congrats to you for taking charge of your health for you and your family. You can do it just stay positive and always plan ahead. Treat all workouts like important meetings that can't be missed and schedule your life around them..not the other way around. This was a good piece of advice given to me and its helped me to not put off workouts anymore. I also tell everyone..eat what you like. If you don't like the food you're eating you won't stick to the program. Cook lower calorie versions of your favorite foods. And remember that sugar breeds sugar cravings..when you give up sugar..your sugar cravings will disappear. I always pre plan for the week and keep cooked chicken, fish, hard boiled eggs and bags of salad, veg and fruit in my fridge at all times for grab and go or if i come home at night and are tired. I make a plate and heat it up in 30 seconds..no excuses for going to the drive thru. Make batches of turkey chili and freeze in individual portion controlled containers for easy tv frozen meals or work lunches. The more creative with food you are..the less deprived you'll feel. Hope my tips will help. Good luck to you..we're all rooting for you0

I did the before pic of my husband to save for when he does lose the weight. I have to get one of me and will let my daughter take it. I'm still one of those (get cuddly with my husband in the dark, under the sheets) type.0

You can do it baby girl....I believe in you.....Love you0

PJ You just brought tears to my eyes. I am very similar however do not have what it takes to be so open or secure. You are very fortunate to have a supportive partner. Altho I have been married 18+ years, my husband brought home my all-time favourite treat and when i asked him why he said you need to be strong and resist the temptation. I was very hurt and discouraged but I am trying to pick myself up and do this for me - my health - my self esteem - my life!! Good luck

Heather,
I am very blessed to have a husband who supports me in anything I want to do. He is overweight too and even when he is not trying he supports me. He has a horrible habit of offering me whatever he is eating but is trying to change that. I will be praying for you, it is hard enough with support but even harder without it. YOU HAVE ME!!! I wil encourge you, cry with you and tell you when I mess up. We are in this together girl!

PJ, I am so impressed with your honesty and motivation. I finally had my daughter take my picture from 3 different angles and would never let my husband do that because............well just because. I DARE NOT to post them. I took them in my underpanties and bra......however, even so, you have my upmost respect. My husband too is on this program (hi hunny!!!! )......he's very very motivated and keeps me going and vice versa. This is officially the end of our first week. Everyone in this forum has been kind, funny, informative, comforting. I wish we all lived in the same area so we could meet and just socialize. Sometimes I laugh so hard, and haven't been able to THAT in so long. Thanks to all of you, I'm truly living a more fulfilled life.
Kudos to you dear.:happy:0 -
Congrats to taking that step towards a better you!! You CAN do this! I just uploaded a "Before" pic to my profile...which was taken last August...about 2 weeks before I started my new lifestyle in September. You will definitely be able to tell which is the "before". I am trying to hide behind my son! LOL! And now, 75 lbs later (still working towards my goal), I am convinced it can happen and you don't have to suffer for it. Even through plateaus and having a hard time right now, I KNOW this works. Best of luck!!0

Welcome. It is very hard but when you get yourself into a routine it gets a little easier. I still have bad days but I dont stress about them any more. I just move on. You can do this and if you are having a bad day or have questions just ask. :drinker:0

Hey everyone,
It has been a busy month. Wanted to pop in and see how everyone is doing.
Started changing my Life 1-2-08 274lbs
MFP 4-15-08 258lbs
Today 4-26-08 253 lbs
Total lost 21 lbs
KEEP YOUR FOOD DIARY AND EXERCISE........IT REALLY HELPS!!!!0 -
Welcome! You are being very honest with us, and that is to be commended. My husband has no idea what I weigh. He thinks I weigh less than him and that is NOT true.
However, it seems easier for people on this site to know my weight. Weird, huh?
I MIGHT tell my hubby my weight after I lose a bunch!0
