Hard time

I'm hard time at night after work with getting back on the wagon. I know I feel better I know I look better but for some reason psychologically it's just hard for me to get back on it

It's not easy. I had to just completely cut out snacking... it's the only thing that really worked for me. But if I start letting myself have some snacks in the evening, pretty soon I'll just keep eating nonstop till I go to bed.

This is a stretch, but if it's mostly evening cravings, how is your sleep quality/quantity and your chronic stress level? If either or both of those can be improved, doing so may help reduce cravings, maybe increase strength of willpower.

Here's my thought process: Sub-par sleep and stress both increase fatigue. As we go through the day, we get chronologically further from our last sleep, and fatigue accumulates. Fatigue tends to make the body seek energy (via appetite hormones and that sort of thing). Sweets - sugar and carbs - are fast energy. Voila, cravings, often for those sweet, calorie-dense quick-energy foods.

TBH, I'm struggling with this a bit myself right now in long-term weight maintenance, because of under-treated sleep apnea (yes, I'm working on fixing that).
