UGHHH all this week I have been obsessing over food! All the things I want: french fries, chicken fingers, not healthy sandwiches. I have done soooo bad this week. Last week I was good up til Friday night and since then...i've spiraled out of control. It's almost t.o.m time but ughh. I'm starving!

It sounds like you are not getting enough good protein in your system, or you wouldn't be feeling hungery. Try this to start you out again, since it is hard to go cold turkey off of bad foods, when that is all you are use too (that's how I was). Eat the Smart Choice, Lean Pockets, etc...meals from the freezer section, with a peanut butter sandwhich for lunch, eat something small but high in protein (enough to get you through to lunch) for Breakfast, and for dinner you should have plenty of cals (around 500 or so) to eat suppper and maybe a snack before bed. You will find that it help you get through because you are adding in more protein and fiber and you will be eating "junk" food by having that meal at lunch. For supper make things you like, only healthier. Try a turkey burger and a small handful of french fries (baked at home) with a huge handful carrot sticks. You will still get the tastes that you want...just in a better way. I understand what you are going through, I went through the same thing my first week...and we go out all the time to places that probably aren't the best for me to eat, but I just work out harder that evening when we get home from going out.
Good luck! Add me if you want to follow my diary, want encouragement. I started in early july and have only lost 4lbs. Unlike some people on here who have lost 10 their first month, it is just harder for me to stay on track as well. So I have to try and trick my body into thinking the good stuff is really the bad stuff. And honestly after eating really well at work for lunch, eating out really does a nasty thing to my stomach and makes me feel gross after eating fast food.

I can eat 1500...but usually I have around 200 left over in the evening...and if I don't have any left over, I work out to gain some back. :)

    Another suggestion...

I was having an issue where I was eating what I thought I should, but I was totally unsatisfied. So, I did a test. I ate various things (all healthy, of course), took note of what it was and how I felt immediately after, then how I felt 2 hours later.

For example, I ate oatmeal and fruit for breakfast one day. Oh my I was loopy, hyper and hungry by the 2 hour mark. I had turkey sausage and scrambled eggs the next, I was even keel and satisfied. The lesson? I need more dense protein in the morning, less carbs or I go haywire in the head and am a food maniac. I now know why I felt so crazy about food and so utterly out of control: I wasn't eating what my body needed.

Perhaps you should try some tests out for yourself. It's probably the food choices you are making just not jiving with your body.

Does anyone else find eating a whole grapefruit incredibly filling. I find on the days that I eat a ton of fruit and vegetables, that I have to look for some high calorie food in the evening to make my calorie quota. (peanut butter) I don't like to eat under 1400. Too worried that my body would adjust the metabolism according to the minimal amounts. I preffer to speed up weight loss through exercise.
About junk food, if you eat it, you will crave it. Enjoy fresh colorful, energising food, and you will crave a salad over greasy salty french fries that coat your mouth with oil and sit in your stomach like a rock.
    Good health to you.
