About my journey so far
Hi everyone, I’m not new to The MyFitnessPal app. I’ve logged my food and calorie counting, and I’ve used it every now and then to get myself back on track. I’ve also used the exercise component and to get product details by barcode scan while shopping.
Now, I’m determined to get serious about my health and wellness journey. I’ve upgraded to the premium+ plan to access meal plans and other great features. I’ve lost 27kg in 12 months and have a stubborn 9kg I’d like to see go. After that, I want to maintain my weight.

what do you enjoy eating? Eat less if it, silly as that sounds.
I love popcorn. I got a microwave popper and cook it without oil. 130 calories for 40 grams unpopped kernels. I add a teaspoon of margarine mixed with low sodium soy sauce (something I learned here- very umami and savory) for another 35 calories.
if I’ve got a bunch of calories left over, like yesterday, I’ll treat myself to a serving and a half.Likewise, still had extra calories, so I keep a supply of mini chocolate bars in the freezer. Something I love, but in controlled portions. 220 calories.
What about cheese and low cal crackers?
I adore cottage cheese and frozen fruit, with a dash of sweet balsamic blueberry vinegar and a teaspoon of something crunchy (don’t know if yall have grapenuts cereal down there?).
An apple is filling and nutritious. I just discovered a new variety up here called Sugar Bee. They are quite small, and incredibly sweet. I figure 50-70 calories depending on weight.
Fresh fruit.
Protein bars.
Yogurts.
Check out homemade ice creams and sorbets. I have several batches of very good ice cream in the freezer right now made from Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, frozen fruit, a little sugar (I’m trying to stay off sugar free syrups at suggestion of my healthcare pros) and vanilla extract. It comes out to about 120 calories for half a pint, which is a large bowlful. I add a squirt of whipped cream (30). High protein, very filling.
I used to make very good cupcakes using nothing but a box mix and kefir. They rose just fine with nothing else. I had to stop doing that because I can eat a whole pan of cupcakes in the blink of an eye. Same with scones. I can inhale out the whole batch. That’s why I was obese. You gotta know your limits. 😢
Low cal toast and peanut butter, maybe with a small sprinkle of hagel slag.0 -
